Audience: Accounting Manager
Summary: Remove unused + invalid credits from MineralTree via the Search page. Currently, this function cannot be used for partially applied credits.
Context
Although the exact behavior varies per integration, it is generally true that MineralTree cannot sync the deletion of credits or any adjustment to them that does not involve applying that credit to a bill.
This article provides simple steps for how to delete credits which are no longer needed within MineralTree. Proceed with some caution, as credit deletion cannot be undone.
How-to
1. Log into MineralTree as user with the Accounting Manager role
2. Navigate to the Search page via the navigation bar
3. Search for the credit you wish to delete. You can do this via the simple search bar or via advanced search. Illustrated is an example wherein we search via the vendor name.
4. Click the trash can icon to the right of the entry.
4. A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm the deletion. Double check your request and hit "OK" to delete the credit, or "Cancel" to retain the credit. Proceed with caution, as deletions cannot be undone.
5. Done! The credit is now deleted.
FAQ
Can I undelete a credit?
No, credits cannot be undeleted. If you have accidentally deleted a credit that you needed, the best solution is to delete + recreate the credit within your accounting system.
I'm trying to delete a credit, but there isn't a trash can icon available to delete it.
Presently, credits can only be deleted if they display a status of "unapplied." If they have a status of "Partially Applied" or "Applied" then they cannot be deleted. If you would like a feature added to close out partially applied credits, please notify a MineralTree representative of your interest.
