Password policies

MineralTree passwords must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 8 characters
  • At least one lowercase letter
  • At least one uppercase letter
  • At least one number
  • At least one non-alphanumeric character (e.g. !@#$%^&*)
  • No more than 2 repeating characters

Passwords expire every 90 days and cannot be reused for at least 180 days.

Password resets

When users request a new password using the Forgot your password link, they are required to a valid email address. To complete the request, users must complete two-factor authentication and a temporary reset link will be sent to the user’s email address.

User accounts are automatically locked after 10 unsuccessful login attempts. Users must contact account administrators to unlock their accounts and request a new password. If administrators get locked out, Customer Support must be contacted.

Accordingly, we highly recommend resetting your own password if you've already made five or more failed login attempts already.
