Summary: This guide reviews MineralTree’s password policies and explains how to reset passwords.
Password Policies
MineralTree passwords must meet the following criteria:
- At least 8 characters
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one non‑alphanumeric character (e.g., !@#$%^&*)
- No more than 2 repeating characters
Additional rules:
- Passwords expire every 90 days.
- Passwords cannot be reused for at least 180 days.
Password Resets

Forgot your password:
- Users must provide a valid email address.
- Two‑factor authentication is required.
- A temporary reset link is sent to the user’s email.

Account lockouts:
- Accounts are automatically locked after 10 unsuccessful login attempts.
- Locked users must contact account administrators to unlock their accounts and request a new password.
- If administrators are locked out, Customer Support must be contacted.

Best practice:
- If you have already made five or more failed login attempts, reset your password proactively to avoid lockout.
